INT. - CLAUS’ STUDY - BERLIN - NIGHT

Claus slams down the phone.

CLAUS

Damn!

Claus angry, frustrated, closes his eyes in pain. Berthold enters.

BERTHOLD

Claus?

CLAUS

I can’t get through to Nina.

Berthold remains silent. There is nothing he can say as Claus remains frustrated. Claus walks away from the desk. He walks to a cabinet, opens it, takes a bottle of scotch and pours himself a drink. He looks at Berthold then takes a long drink. Mertz enters, pauses as he sees the brothers are sharing a moment then uncomfortably, he walks forward and lays a briefcase down on Claus’ desk. They all look at each other. They know what it is in the briefcase and what they are about to attempt the next day.
