Heil Hitler!

CLAUS

Heil Hitler!

Claus reaches on the table for a form and a pen. He writes quickly and with authority. The officer looks startled and scared. Claus hands the form to the officer. The officer takes it, reads it.

SUPPLY OFFICER

i am sorry Herr Colonel. There is a strict rationing and this battalion has received their ration.

Claus deliberately and quietly goes to a table where sits a loaf of bread and cheese. He takes both and puts them in his jacket. He exits. The officer follows him. Claus exits the tent.

SUPPLY OFFICER (CONT’D)

Colonel, you have no authority...

Claus ignores him. Claus continues to another supply tent guarded by two soldiers. Lieutenant observes the complete chain of events. The two soldiers noticing Claus’ rank allow him to enter the tent. Claus exits carrying boxes of rations. He places them on the back of Lieutenant ’s vehicle.

CLAUS
(To Lieutenant)

Anything else?

LIEUTENANT sits with his mouth agape, dumbfounded.

CLAUS (CONT’D)
(Smiles, puts his finger in the air.)
